RemObjects Software is a software development company offering tools and libraries for software developers on a variety of platforms.
Our core products are centered around the Microsoft .NET, Apple Xcode and Embarcadero Delphi development platforms, but our central vision is to provide best-of-breed solutions for developers everywhere, and we are constantly looking at additional platforms, in particular for our RemObjects SDK/Data Abstract suite of products.
Most component vendors focus on highly-visible and fancy user interface components, and there's no dearth for beautiful grid and charting components amass. Instead, RemObjects Software concentrates on developing state-of-the-art solutions that form the foundation of your software applications, low-level libraries and tools that help developers define the very architecture of their application.
Our philosophy is to provide the best possible solution for each of the supported platforms, rather than providing a one-size-fits-all solution that uses a lowest common denominator approach. This ensures that developers on either platform can work with tools that are native to their development environment, fit in well with their existing architecture and integrate great with the platform in question – while still being compatible, both in terms of interoperability between platforms as well as transfer of experience with our products from one platform to the other.
For example, Data Abstract is written and maintained from the ground up in three separate editions, to take advantage of and fit in well with the ,NET Framework, the Delphi VCL and the Cocoa/Cocoa Touch frameworks, respectively. Yet, the three platforms share the same design philosophy and underlying architecture, so a developer experienced with Data Abstract on one platform will easily transfer her experience to Data Abstract on one of the others.
Products
Main products are Data Abstract, the leading multi-tier database solution and RemObjects SDK, a framework for building scalable distributed applications (clients and servers), that forms the foundation of Data Abstract.
Other product include:
RemObjects Software also develops Oxygene, the award-winning state-of-the-art Object Pascal language for .NET and Mono, integrated into Visual Studio, that powers the Delphi Prism product from our partner Embarcadero.
ROadmap
We at RemObjects Software believe that transparency is an important element in choosing technologies, especially for those which integrate as deeply with the core of your application as ours do. Using our products is a long-term investment that will pay dividends for years and years to come.
For this reason, RemObjects Software has been one of the first development tool vendors to provide an extensive and detailed ROadmap that outlines our development plans for the immediate and long-term future, allowing our users to make decisions on leveraging our products not only based on what is available now but also on what is coming over the next months and years.
The format and detail of the ROadmap has changed over the years, but it is still one of the most valued resources we provide to our users, and it is updated regularly.
